Bump Watch Week 29

A very long awaited Bump Watch! Julie is now 29 weeks pregnant, and both her and the baby are doing fine - only Julie is getting a little bit tired and uncomfortable! We've had a busy couple of weeks, but now we are settling into the rhythm of the pregnancy, and getting more appointments under our belt.

Can I do the laundry.....?

Since we have come back we are so blessed to have met, and played with our little nephew, Jackson. He was born while we were away, and is just over 6 months old. It is a testament to his cuteness, that before, Jonny came into his brothers house to play Playstation, and now he's straight over to Jackson.

I think this is one of the cutest pictures ever of Jackson, and yet, it reminds us that in about 3 months we will have a little baby to look after....and we can't wait!

Stay tuned this week for updates on how Julie's getting on!

Floods Frenzy...

Yesterday we went to the charity shop in Coleraine where Jonny & Julie's Dad were doing deliveries and her Mum was working. As we did deliveries the rain was bouncing down and fields were becoming waterlogged. We were about to go to my Mum's in Belfast, when she rang and said the roads were too bad. I thought my Mum was being a bit dramatic...that was until I saw the news!

The Westlink, probably the biggest area of roads in N. Ireland, was under 20 million gallons of water!!! An underpass is completely filled up and there are at least 5 cars under the 20-some feet of water.

This is insane...but it leads me to think on the flood that we read about in the Bible, in Genesis. Our pastor today reminded us that the flood was to cleanse the world of the sin of man, as it was displeasing to God. As Christians we can be thankful that God sent, not a flood, but His Son to cleanse the world of sin, if we have faith in Him, and follow Him. Praise God!

Wedding Day...

On Tuesday we celebrated the wedding of Julie's sister Laura and her husband, Ash. It was a great day, full of love, fun and laughter. It was great for Julie and I to see all the family in one place, and be a part of this wonderful day. The happy couple are, at the time of writing this, on a plane bound for Florida. We wish them all God's blessing, and joy for the future!

Hen Partying...

Last Saturday was a bit strange for us boys...all the girls got dolled up and headed out to Laura's house for a party. They had a great night of fun (so I've been told!) with a BBQ, games, and salsa dancing. They also gave Laura so "practical wedding advice" for her future!

Cruz..Cruz..Cruz Azul

Last week I (Jonny) went to watch the Mexican football side, Cruz Azul, play in the Milk Cup. It was a fantastic match, albeit, it was 0-0, but what was more of a blessing was chatting to the coaching staff and some of the players. I met the manager and the two coaches, and they got me a shirt signed by the team. Even in Northern Ireland, a bright sunny day, and plenty of Spanish still gives me a little piece of Mexico right here at home!
