Bump Watch Week 21...

We have decided to sell out and do a bit of a bump watch for Baby Bean! So we are at Week 21, and if my mathematics serves me correctly is 5 months, 1 Week.
With our team coming, moving out of our house and trying to organise our church's Holiday Bible Club, we may not get many new interesting Mexico pictures. But we'll try...

Congratulations...

Laura (Julie's Sister) graduated today with a degree in English & Media. We are really sad we couldn't be there with her today, but we know God will really bless her, especially in the coming weeks before her wedding to Ash.
Well Done Laura!

Terrified and Blessed at the same time...

This Saturday I was asked to preach for the first time in Spanish. Well actually I've been asked a lot(!), but finally had enough faith in God to do it. Julie and I spoke in over 50 churches and meetings when we were preparing to come to Mexico, but to speak in English is a blessing that we took for granted!

Gabriel, the leader of the youth fellowship asked me to give a message to the youth, as we had been involved with them this year. We have had a lot of changes recently in our church, and a lot of discouragement, so I felt the Lord leading me to speak on "How to have a winning attitude."

We looked at the life of Paul when he was in prison, and how under all the strain and persecution he faced, he still praised God. I got a lot out of this message, and the youth said that they understood my Spanish, and the message really challenged them.

We praise God for such opportunities and it helps us to be humble as we are really out of our depth with our language, but continues to bless us in our weakness.

MEXIKIDS....

This Saturday was the final day of MEXIKIDS in our church, as we are having 2 training days to get ready for our Campo de Verano (a summer Bible club.) We have been so blessed to be a part of this ministry at our church, and to see how we finished with nearly 50 kids per week coming regularly, people coming to the Lord, and ending with 20 leaders, we can see how God blessed it!
We have been really purposeful on training the people in the club, and with the help of the UNIFAM Social Ministry, we have really seen growth in the people in our church. We have had people to take over our roles, and the team are so excited to get started in August. And we can't wait to come back and rejoin this amazing team of devoted people.

MOPS...

Thanks to Robin for the picture! Julie was invited to the MOPS closing party as we had shared a First Aid class with the Mum's there. MOPS stands for Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers and has been running for 2 years now. It is amazing to see how the ladies of Campanario church have really gelled as a team and are seeing much fruit for their labour!

Xochimilco...

Last week we went on a little day trip with the missionary team here in Mexico. It was an amazing day of rest and relaxation, and also for a farewell party for Robin Efing, who returns to the States to raise funds.
We love Xochimilco as it's like the Venice of Mexico with it's boats and floating food! We have felt at home with the missionaries here and it's great when we can get together and just chill out together.

Busy, Busy, Busy...

As we are heading home in a few weeks, we are just beginning to arrange time with people when we return. We are spending time with family, trying to get some work, visiting friends and supporters, and also we will be speaking in some churches. This seems a bit daunting as so many people have contacted us and we don't seem to have enough time to fit them all in, but as we've missed so many people while we've been here it will be a blessing to catch up with them all!

On another note, if you would like us to come and speak at your church, prayer group, youth meetings, or even just to chat about what we are doing and how you can get involved, please don't hesitate to contact us, there is a contact on the right hand side for us.

Yawn...

The last few weeks have been a complete blow by, and we have to apologise for the lack of blog posts! We have been working with a team from Frazer UMC, a guy Ben from the States, Dr & Mrs Baye from Korea, and also getting stuff sorted in our church with Holiday Bible Club coming up....plus the arrival of a team from our church, our Dr visits with the baby, studying Spanish, and also having to visit the Pyramids three times in as many weeks!

It's amazing though as we near the end of our year in Mexico, that people are still praying for us, and we're still being shown amazing things by God. Yesterday I was doing a study with a guy who Julie and I have been praying for that he would go to Seminary for some preparation for what God has for him. I purposely never told him about us praying, and yesterday he stopped our study and said "I want your advice, because I think God may want me to go to Seminary." Praise God for what He allows us to be part of here in Mexico, and for the part that you guys play in supporting us financially, but more importanly prayerfully!

Bump Watch...

A while ago now we got our first scan of our new little addition. So in the coming months we are going to have a little theme running - Bump Watch - as Julie's bump gets bigger. As our baby is growing we will all be doing so much! Finishing up in Mexico, heading home, Laura getting married, Jonny's birthday, and visiting a lot of our supporters. This is an exciting prospect for us, and we just can't wait until little Baby Bean comes in November.
